The latest directives from DGCA come against the backdrop of rising number of coronavirus cases in certain parts of the country even as domestic air traffic is improving
In a statement on Tuesday, Saad Al-Otaibi, the DGCA spokesman, said the resumption of flights will begin on Saturday at 4 p.m., Xinhua news agency reported.
The aviation regulator further clarified that international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the "competent authority on case to case basis".
The approval came after a thorough evaluation process by the Quality Council of India (QCI), in line with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) guidelines
