Traffic restrictions are likely to be imposed on Uppal main road as authorities prepare for construction of the long-delayed Uppal–Narapally elevated corridor. Traffic police are finalising diversion plans, with the project expected to ease congestion and be completed by Dasara 2026.
Works on the project likely to commence mid-June; project has a completion period of 36 months at an estimated cost of Rs 652 crore, says HMDA Chief Engineer
Considering the regular traffic jams and hardships being faced by motorists on Medchal, Kamareddy, Adilabad route from Secunderabad, Telangana government had proposed the elevated corridor
Revanth Reddy alleged that the previous government's “failure” to take a positive decision over allotting forest lands at Vikarabad for the Indian Navy’s VLF station and on extending the lease period of defense lands at Chandrayangutta had delayed the Rs.2,232 crore-elevated corridor project.
If Medchal has to develop, these elevated corridors are required. This will usher in development and IT and pharma companies will open their units. I thank the Union government for allotting defense lands to Telangana, Revanth Reddy said
