“While all organisations welcome the suggestions of SC to stay the farm laws, they are collectively and individually not willing to participate in any proceedings before a committee,” a statement issued by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha said
The farmer unions are not running away from negotiations, but the government has to pay heed to their demands and come forward with concrete proposals, farmer union leaders said.
Meanwhile, a joint delegation of Opposition parties is scheduled to meet President Ram Nath Kovind later in the evening today, CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said.
"The government should make a decision on our demands, otherwise, we are walking out of the meeting," farmer leaders said during the talks with the Central Government
