A six-member Central team began its three-day visit to Telangana on Wednesday to visit the flood-affected districts and assess the damage caused in the State due to the recent heavy rains and floods.
Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan conducted an aerial survey of crop damage of flood affected areas in Meenavalu, Peddagopavaram, Mannur, Kattleru, Khammam and Munneru on Friday.
In Telangana, Shivraj Singh Chouhan was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao
The Minister said, the previous government failed to submit utilisation certificates for the funds released by the centre for natural disaster relief works, hence the centre had not released the SDRF amount to the State in the current financial year
The Collector further said a control room, 63056 46600 was established and advised the flood-affected people to report their problems. She wanted officials of the revenue, police, NPDCL, municipal and irrigation departments to be accessible to the public round the clock.
