Goa Police detained Ajay Gupta, co-owner of the ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ nightclub where 25 people died in a massive fire. With his detention, the total arrests have risen to six, while two key owners remain absconding, allegedly having fled to Thailand.

The court had pronounced the accused, Vikat Bhagat, guilty of raping and murdering the 28-year-old tourist, whose body was found in a forested area in Canacona village of South Goa on March 14, 2017

He said that the accused was found to be staying at a resort, owner of which Sebestian Albuquerque from Vagator, had failed to fill a form of the accused woman which is mandatory by law.
