The Godavari river at Bhadrachalam has crossed the second warning level, reaching 50.8 feet with massive inflows. Officials warn of further rise, setting up relief centres and banning boating for safety.
Revenue officers on Saturday allocated houses to residents of Ayyappa Colony and Kotha Colony, who were affected by the Godavari floods, as well as to persons with disabilities and cancer patients. The allotment took place at the local tahsildar's office, covering housing at AMC Colony and Manubothula Cheruvu in the town.
