The Telangana government has extended the deadline for applications under the HILT policy to October 31 after industries showed little interest in relocating from the CURE area beyond the ORR. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the Cabinet also cleared major decisions, including e‑auction of surplus paddy, correction of land records under 22‑A.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao warned of a major agitation if Telangana’s water rights are compromised, accusing the Congress government of yielding to Andhra Pradesh’s influence and mismanaging irrigation and industrial land policies. He vowed to scrap the controversial HILT policy and expose alleged irregularities in land and property restrictions.
The BRS accused the Congress government of using the proposed HILT policy to facilitate large-scale land transfers and alleged a Rs 6 lakh crore land scam. Party leaders demanded a probe, accountability and transparency in land-related decisions taken by the government.
The Telangana government will implement revised land registration market values from May 28 to boost revenue. At a Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting chaired by Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, officials also discussed finalising industrial policy guidelines and reviewed revenue targets across departments.
