The incident occurred between Dhaulai and Pallinar at Kadenar area in Narayanpur district when the jawans were returning to Mandoda after conducting combing operations in the forests

Sunil Padam, a Maoist militia commander, was killed when an IED that he was placing underground near Gaythapara village accidentally got activated.

Jharkhand Police also informed that the incident happened in the forest area of village Hoyahatu, under Toklo police station.

The IED recovery comes close on the heels of the arrest of two top terrorists from Kunjwani in Jammu and Bari Brahmana area of Samba district.

The jawans were taken to Raipur for better treatment, said Sadanand Kumar, Commandant, 16th battalion of CAF.

Assistant Commandant Nitin Bhalerao, 33, succumbed to injuries suffered in the blast in the early hours of Sunday and nine commandos, were injured.
