The satellite was launched using the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) PSLV-C51 which took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh at 10:30 am today.
Modi's message comes after India successfully placed into orbit 19 satellites including Brazil's earth observation satellite Amazonia-1-the primary passenger-in a textbook style.
He said with the launch of PSLV-C51 which is the first dedicated commercial satellite, ISRO has proved to be one of the world’s leading space research organisations.

The Indian rocket numbered PSLV-C51 carrying the 637-kg Brazilian satellite Amazonia-1 and 18 other satellites (including 13 from USA) is scheduled to lift-off from the first launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre
Under the agreement, Skyroot Aerospace can access the facilities and technical expertise available in ISRO centres to proceed with its launch vehicle development programme
The announcement comes ahead of the company's first satellite launch, scheduled for February 2021 on an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket.
