"DSEG confirms that our client Justin Langer has this morning tendered his resignation as of the Australian men's cricket team," the statement said, as reported by ESPNcricinfo.
"We've had some really robust conversations among our leaders in the last few days and we're really looking forward to the next six months with," said the Australian Test skipper
Langer was appointed as the head coach on a four-year contract in 2018 after Darren Lehmann had stepped down in the wake of the ball-tampering scandal.
Following an under-strength India's historic Test win in Australia, a report in 'Sydney Morning Herald' said that some national players are not happy with Langer's intense "micro-management" coaching style.
