Commuters in Hyderabad face traffic congestion near Khairatabad Metro Station as police barricades set up for Ganesh idol immersion remain uncleared even two days after the festivities. Road users complain of delays and demand immediate removal of obstructions.
Hundreds of Ganesh idols were brought to Hussain Sagar for immersion a day ahead of the scheduled centralised event due to the upcoming lunar eclipse. The early rush, managed by GHMC and police officials using cranes, caused traffic congestion around the lake.
The iconic 69-foot Khairatabad Ganesh idol is taking shape rapidly, with over 60 per cent clay work completed. Crafted by artisans from Tamil Nadu and Odisha, this year’s eco-friendly idol follows the theme "Sri Vishwashanthi Maha Shakthi Ganapathy" for Ganesh Chaturthi on August 27
