Wyra Government Area Hospital in Khammam district, the native place of Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, is facing severe neglect due to lack of funds and facilities. Despite being upgraded to a 100-bed hospital in 2023, essential equipment and specialist doctors remain unavailable. CPI(M) leader Bhukya Veerabhadram highlighted that patients are forced to wait for days as samples are sent to Khammam for tests.
A mentally unstable pregnant woman from a tribal background in Kothagudem district was rescued by the Khammam-based Annam Foundation after orphanages refused her admission. She delivered a healthy baby boy at Khammam Government Hospital on August 30. Both mother and child are safe.
