Upkar murdered Sarita, his live-in partner of six years who had separated from her husband, on October 25 in Rishi Colony, Civil Lines area. He then set the entire house on fire to make it appear as an accidental blaze, police reported.
Police stated on Wednesday that investigations uncovered the accused's sadistic pleasure in making comments on those posts. They also noted that the accused was part of a group engaged in similar inappropriate activities.
The accused has been identified as Rafeeq Badshah. The woman has alleged that the accused pretended to be a Hindu man on Facebook and said his name was 'Guruprasad'.
Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma stated that if an unmarried individual is misled into a sexual relationship with the false assurance of marriage by someone they believe is legally eligible for marriage, it could be considered a rape offense.
The incident took place last week at a rented accommodation of the 45-year-old accused person in Beereshwaranagar near Chunchaghatta Main Road in Bengaluru.
