Upkar murdered Sarita, his live-in partner of six years who had separated from her husband, on October 25 in Rishi Colony, Civil Lines area. He then set the entire house on fire to make it appear as an accidental blaze, police reported.
Police stated on Wednesday that investigations uncovered the accused's sadistic pleasure in making comments on those posts. They also noted that the accused was part of a group engaged in similar inappropriate activities.
The accused has been identified as Rafeeq Badshah. The woman has alleged that the accused pretended to be a Hindu man on Facebook and said his name was 'Guruprasad'.
