The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced that the first round of counselling for MBBS and other undergraduate medical courses under the All India Quota (AIQ) will begin on August 4, with the academic session for the 2026-27 batch starting on September 8.

The National Medical Commission has proposed restoring the 10-year limit for completing the MBBS course, including internship, through an amendment to the Graduate Medical Education Regulations. The move is expected to help students facing academic, health or personal challenges

KNRUHS has allowed MBBS students admitted under the competent authority quota to leave their course without any penalty until 3 PM on October 8, 2025. After this deadline, a penalty will apply. Discontinued students can’t attend future counseling rounds

However, candidates are informed that they will not be eligible for further phases of Competent Authority Quota counseling once they discontinue the course.

Eligible candidates can now exercise their options on the website (https://tsmedadm.tsche.in) from 5 pm on January 4 to 9 pm on January 5

Over 7.7 lakh out of the over 13.66 lakh candidates have qualified the exam which is used for admission to MBBS courses across the country.
