Former MP and BRS leader B Vinod Kumar demanded the withdrawal of these comments and called for a private teachers' protection bill similar to those for advocates and unorganised sector workers.
District Educational Officer Ravinder Reddy who was present at the programme said that steps were being taken to provide the relief to all the eligible teachers
He said the decision was taken on humanitarian grounds to benefit 1.45 lakh teachers and other staff working in recognised educational institutions across the State
