Airlines have begun resuming limited operations from Dubai and other Gulf cities after five days of disruption triggered by regional tensions. While some repatriation flights have restarted, major carriers and airports continue to face restrictions and suspended services.

India's largest airline has been ranked next only to Qatar Airways, which clocked a 10.4 per cent growth in seat capacity over the previous year, according to the latest data from the Official Airline Guide (OAG)

Move comes after several walkie-talkies and pagers exploded in the country

The flight, carrying 300 passengers, eventually landed at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad in the early hours of Saturday.

Due to heavy rain causing poor visibility at Nagpur airport, the flight originally scheduled to land at 2.50 a.m. was diverted to Hyderabad.

The airline’s decision has received mixed reactions on social media.

"Thank Qatar Airways for facilitating this shipment from the UK," tweeted Arindam Bagchi, official spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs.

In the early stages of the pandemic, the airline had provided similar aid flights to China, shipping supplies to Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai in February 2020.

Facing a potentially devastating commercial and reputational damage, Qatar's government released a statement on Wednesday to explain its version of events and promise to ensure the future "safety, security and comfort" of passengers.
