Karimnagar Commissionerate Police intensified their crackdown on illegal sand mining, registering 245 FIRs and booking 422 persons between January and March. Police also seized 357 vehicles involved in illegal sand transportation during the enforcement drive.
BRS leaders accused the Congress government of ignoring rampant illegal sand mining in the Godavari basin. They alleged misuse of welfare schemes, shortage of funds for gram panchayats, and delay in local body polls, demanding urgent action and allocations for village infrastructure.
