Fourteen women employees in Adilabad have accused a senior cooperative department official of sexual harassment, alleging he sent obscene messages and made calls via WhatsApp. A complaint has been lodged with senior authorities, while the official has denied the allegations.
The She Teams of the Rachakonda police conducted decoy operations at public places in civilian clothes and caught 138 persons including 70 minors for allegedly sexually harassing women and girls between July 17 and 31.
Praveen Kumar, who was the Shaligouraram SI, was placed under Vacancy Reserve (VR), after the woman, following his harassment, approached the Director-General of Police and the Superintendent of Police, Nalgonda.
