Teaching and non-teaching staff of KGBVs, Urban Residential Schools and Samagra Shiksha institutions in Telangana will begin phased protests from Monday, demanding better service conditions, salary revisions and health benefits, with a ‘Chalo Assembly’ programme planned if their issues remain unresolved.
TS UTF has urged the Telangana government to regularise KGBV staff services after a fatal car accident killed two employees. The federation demanded ex gratia payments of Rs 10 lakh and compassionate appointments for eligible family members.
Stating that such a decision was not the right move, the TS UTF president K Jangaiah and general secretary Chava Ravi demanded that the State government immediately withdraw the proposal.
