Nearly two years after President Droupadi Murmu launched PRASAD scheme works at Bhadrachalam and Parnasala, less than half have been completed. Officials cite contractor negligence and poor monitoring, while devotees allege State government failure in utilising Centre-sanctioned funds.
Despite being planned for the past five years, the launch was delayed due to insufficient water levels in the Nagarjuna Sagar dam and the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the extensive rainfall during this monsoon season has ensured adequate water levels from Srisailam to Nagarjuna Sagar, enabling the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation to finally commence the boat (launch) journey.
