A couple from Ramaiahpalli visited a church in Dharmapuri to offer prayers for the New Year. Tragically, they met with an accident on their way back to their village. Both sustained severe injuries when a speeding lorry collided with their bike.

This was slightly lower than the previous year, when 1,57,68,339 cases were reported and a fine of Rs. 540.91 crore was collected.
