Panic gripped Veerdhandi village in Koutala mandal after a crocodile was sighted on the banks of the Wardha river on Monday. Farmers halted agricultural activities and urged officials to prevent any risk to human life.

Kaghaznagar DSP A Karunakar said efforts were on to trace the bodies. 

Activists of BRS criticised the government for scrapping a proposed high-level bridge across Wardha river at Gundayipet village in Koutala mandal.

Rainwater touched beams of bridges built across Wardha river at Hudkili and Podsa of Chandrapur district and Venkatraopet in Sirpur (T) mandal resulting in suspension of traffic on these structures.
