Telangana Open power-lifting Championship: Tapasya clinches gold
Tapasya secured the strong woman title by lifting an impressive 112.5 kg in Deadlift and 37.5 kg in Bench Press
Hyderabad: S.Tapasya delivered a stellar performance to clinch the title in the Under-13 category at the Telangana Open power-lifting Championship at the Body Beast Gym in Mansoorabad..
Competing in the 44 kg weight category, Tapasya secured the strong woman title by lifting an impressive 112.5 kg in Deadlift and 37.5 kg in Bench Press.
In the boys 67.5 Kgs category Anwar Hussain clinched the ‘strong man’ title by lifting 110 Kgs in Bench Press and 225 Kgs
in dedlift.
The championship also witnessed fine performances from young prodigies in other age categories also. In Under-16 Category Vanisha bagged the gold medal by lifting 125kg in Deadlift and 35 kg in Bench Press.
In Under-7 Category Young lifter Diza put on an incredible show to win gold, lifting 42.5 kg in Deadlift and 15 kg in Bench Press.
Rekha, President of the WPC Telangana Powerlifting Association,congratulated all the winners and participants for their exceptional dedication and sportsmanship.
To encourage the athletes, Body Beast Gym awarded a special cash prize of 10,000 each to the prestigious titles of
‘Strongman’ (Anwar) and ‘Strongwoman’ (Tapasya) of the tournament.
