Hyderabad: Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC) gave two days’ time for Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) to submit views on the objections raised by several people during a public hearing on the proposed tariff hike here.
More than 150 people including politicians and experts in the energy sector took part in the public hearing that continued till Friday night and shared their views. The TSSPDCL has explained in detail about the reasons for proposing tariff hike and the factors that contributed to the power cost in the State.
The TSERC earlier conducted similar public hearings in Sircilla, Hanamkonda and Wanaparthy and elicited public opinion. It is conducting public hearings after TSSPDCL and Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TSNPDCL) already submitted Aggregate Revenue Requirement (ARR) and tariff proposals for retail supply business (RSB) and cross subsidy surcharge proposals for the financial year 2022-23.
In addition, the Cooperative Electric Society Limited in Sircilla also submitted ARR proposals for RSB to the Commission.
