The TGNPDCL and TGSPDCL have to file the ARR before the TGERC by the end of this month so that the ERC could give order on the tariff by the end of March
On September 18, the two discoms submitted new tariff proposals and the Aggregate Revenue Requirement (ARR) for 2024-25 to the Commission. They proposed an ARR of Rs. 57,857 crore and projected revenue generation of Rs. 44,835 crore, leaving a revenue gap of Rs. 13,022 crore. The discoms requested this shortfall to be covered by the State government as reimbursement or support for subsidies provided to the agriculture and other sectors.
Sources report that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has approved the appointment of Justice Nagarjun as the new TGERC chairman, with current chairman T Sriranga Rao's term ending on October 29. Justice Nagarjun is expected to assume the role on the same day.
TGERC Chairman T said the Discoms failure to adhere to certain stipulated time frame for filing the petitions not only undermine public trust but also risk the financial viability of power distribution system, impacting consumers who depend on a stable supply of electricity.
