Hyderabad: Surveillance cameras make policing easier and help in providing more safety to the citizens, said Rachakonda Police Commissioner, Mahesh M Bhagwat.
Speaking after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Technip FMC India for providing 65 Community CCTV cameras worth Rs 18 lakh under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) here on Wednesday, Bhagwat said, “the surveillance cameras play a vital role in providing more safety to the citizens, particularly to women and children.
Several cases were solved in shorter time with their help.” He pointed out that the surveillance network also induces a certain fear among criminals and deter them from committing offences.
The 65 CCTV surveillance cameras would be arranged across the jurisdiction of Nacharam police station and the project will be implemented through Technip FMC and their NGO Partner Hand-IN-Hand Company.
With Nacharam largely being covered with industries, there is a need for more surveillance cameras for the safety and security of women employees. Officials intend to identify more dark spots and install cameras.
Malkajgiri DCP Rakshitha K Murthy thanked Technip FMC India for their support in making Rachakonda a better place to live. Senior police officials from Rachakonda and representatives of Technip FMC India were present.
