Hyderabad: Students from the Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS) have come out with flying colours in the recently announced medical seats allotment through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 counselling.
While 80 students were imparted intensive coaching by the Society, a total of 43 students secured medical seats in the first phase of the NEET counselling. These students belong to the most marginalised and digitally deprived communities.
A few such students trained by the Society include Eesam Manasa from Koya community of Rangappagudem village of Mahbubabad district who secured a medical seat in Dr. PMR Medical College, Chevella. Similarly, a student of TTWURJC G Thungathurthy, Tejavath Dharani who received extensive coaching under operation emerald at TTW IIT SC Rajendranagar has bagged a seat in AIIMS Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh.
Another two students from the Society, Banavath Tharun got into Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad and Banothu Ganesh received admission in ESI Sanathnagar.
TTWREIS Secretary, D Ronald Rose thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod, and Tribal Welfare department Secretary, Christina Z Chongthu for their unstinted support. Last year, the Society students secured 39 medical seats including two students who joined AIIMS Bhubaneshwar. With this year’s achievement, a total of 141 tribal welfare students have joined medical courses.
