Hyderabad: AICC spokesperson Dasoju Sravan demanded the State government to establish a federation for Nayee Brahmins and allocate Rs 250 crore, besides measures for setting up 30,000 modern salons.
He charged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had betrayed Nayee Brahmins and failed to fulfil the promises made to the community. He participated in a protest to highlight the issues of Nayee Brahmins at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday.
Sravan said the Chief Minister had even promised an MLC post for Nayee Brahmins during elections. Despite repeated appeals, the Chief Minister was turning a blind eye to the problems faced by Nayee Brahmins, he said. Meanwhile, former Ministers J Geeta Reddy, Damodar Rajanarasimha and Shabbir Ali inspected the arrangements for Congress party’s Dalit Girjan Dandora programme to be held at Gajwel.
