Karimnagar: A car was found in an agricultural well on the outskirts of Vegurupalli in Manakondur mandal on Monday, triggering fears that a missing man may have plunged into it along with the vehicle.
Local residents who noticed the car submerged in the well alerted the police. Following the information, police led by Circle Inspector Sanjeev rushed to the spot and attempted to retrieve the vehicle, but the operation failed due to heavy water and silt in the well.
The police decided to resume the operation on Tuesday morning by draining the water using motors.
Local people and the police suspect that Sangem Raju, who has been missing for the past five days, might have fallen into the well along with the car. A native of Utur in Manakondur mandal, Raju had moved to Hyderabad with his mother after the death of his father and was working in a private firm.
On January 3, he left home after informing his mother that he was going to Utur in a rented car. He has been missing since then. His mother lodged a complaint with the Manakondur police on January 5.
