Jagtial: The State government decided to set up an Ethanol, Rice Bran oil plant in the Dharmapuri constituency. The Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) has come forward to set up the ethanol plant in the State. Recently, the representatives of the company held consultations with TS Planning Board Chairman B Vinod Kumar, IT and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao and NAFSCOB chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao in Hyderabad.
After thoroughly examining various aspects, the State government decided to allocate the land for the plant near Dharmapuri. Following the higher officials’ instructions, District Collector G Ravi along with other officials inspected the government land near Stambampalli of Velgatur mandal on Thursday.
About 413 acres and 12 guntas government land is available in the village. The Collector also inspected land for earlier sanctioned Vignana Bhavan Food Processing unit godown, government hostel and Haritha hotel.
The Collector instructed the revenue officials to conduct a detailed survey and submit it as early as possible. He instructed Tahsildar and other officials to inspect the land regularly to ensure that nobody would occupy the land.
The KRIBHCO will set up the plant by spending Rs 700 crore. The plant will produce 250-kilo litters of corn bran oil per day in the first phase and 250-kilo litters of rice bran oil per day in the second phase. The plant would require five lakh tonnes of paddy and maize each every year. The scores of local unemployed youth would get employment with the establishment of the plant.
Meanwhile, ethanol would be produced from sugarcane, maize and paddy. It would be used as biodiesel, pharma, and liquor manufacturing units. Welfare Minister Koppula Eashwar felt happy for the State government’s decision to establish the ethanol plant in Dharmapuri. He thanked Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao for deciding to set up the plant in Dharmapuri by convincing Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
