Minister Indrakaran Reddy pays floral tributes to martyrs at Telangana martyrs column in Nirmal on Wednesday.
Nirmal: Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy asserted that Telangana was excelling on all fronts including creation of water resources in the past seven years. He was addressing a gathering after hoisting the national flag to mark Telangana State Formation Day celebrations held here on Wednesday.
Indrakaran paid floral tributes to Telangana ideologue Prof Jayashankar by garlanding the latter’s portrait and statue of Telangana Talli. He conveyed wishes of Formation Day to the peoples of the State. He recounted contributions and sacrifices made by martyrs in pursuit of a separate Telangana. He was joined by Zilla Parishad Chairperson K Vijayalaxmi.
Speaking on the occasion, Indrakaran said that Telangana was achieved under the leadership of K Chandrasekhar Rao, with an objective of legitimate share in water, jobs and funds. The newly formed State’s government was giving paramount importance to citizens. It is implementing a slew of innovative schemes and initiatives, besides laying special focus on developmental programmes.
“The State could construct Kaleshwaram, Seetharama, Palamuru-Rangareddy, Mid-Manair, and Dindi lift irrigation projects with the record span of time. Apart from the irrigation projects, the government is implementing matchless schemes such as Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhageeratha. Consequently, Telangana is shining in the country when it comes to the creation of water resources,” Indrakaran remarked.
The Minister further said that the first-of-its-kind Raithu Bandhu, introduced by the government, on the other hand, created a record of sorts in the country. Telangana is the only State to allocate Rs 15,000 crore to extend the crop input investment scheme. Similarly, Raithu Bheema, KCR Kits, Asara Pensions and Kanti Velugu schemes help the State in standing out and indicate the growth story scripted by Telangana.
Indrakaran said that reorganisation of districts was a historical decision made by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Newly formed Nirmal was progressing on the track of development in many spheres. Collector Musharraf Ali Faruqui, Nirmal municipal chairperson Gandrath Eshwar and in-charge Superintendent of Police Ch Praveen Kumar were present.
Meanwhile, government whips Gampa Govardhan and Arikepudi Gandhi and advisor to Telangana government and retired IPS officer Anurag Sarma hoisted tricolor flags to mark the occasion in Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad and Mancherial district headquarters, respectively. Zilla Parishad chairperson Rathod Janardhan, Kova Laxmi and N Bhagyalaxmi, Collectors Rahul Raj, Bharati Hollikeri attended the ceremonies.
