JAGTIAL: A father and son got washed away in flood waters in Jagtial. While the body of a six-year-old boy was found, the whereabouts of his father are not yet known. This incident took place near Mallannapet of Golapalli mandal on Tuesday.

Flood water was overflowing on a bridge near Mallannapeta village as Mallannapeta Vagu was overflowing due to incessant rains during the last three days.

A native of Nandipalli of Gollapalli mandal, Ekkaladevi Gangamallu along with his son Vishnuvardhan was proceeding to a nearby village on a two-wheeler vehicle. Without estimating the speed of the flood, Gangamallu drove the vehicle ahead. However, they washed away in the flood water as the motorcycle fell into the rivulet unable to cope up with heavy flow. The body of Vishnuvarthan was found. Police and revenue officials launched a search operation for Gangamallu.
