Telangana girls outshine boys in ICSE, ISC exam 2026 results

Girls outperformed boys in Telangana in the ICSE and ISC 2026 examinations, with pass percentages exceeding 99%. The state recorded strong overall results, mirroring national trends, as CISCE announced recheck and improvement exam schedules.

Hyderabad: Telangana girls continue to beat boys in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) (Class X) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) (Class XII) examinations.

As per the results declared by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on Thursday, 2,763 girls secured a 99.93 per cent pass rate, while 2,838 boys got a 99.68 per cent pass in the ICSE 2026 examinations.


Similarly, 99.39 per cent of 489 girls who appeared for the ISC exams were declared passed, whereas 441 boys achieved a passing percentage of 98.87 per cent.

Overall, 99.80 per cent of 5,601 students from 45 schools passed the ICSE exams in Telangana. In the ISC exams, 930 students appeared from 19 schools and 99.14 per cent cleared.

A total of 1,535 OBC candidates took the ICSE examinations, achieving a qualified percentage of 99.80, while 3,712 general category candidates appeared for the exams and secured a pass percentage of 99.8.

In case of ISC exams, 156 OBC candidates who sat for the examinations achieved a qualified percentage of 98.72. Similarly, 738 general category candidates took the examination, achieving a qualified percentage of 99.19.

Johnson Grammar School, Kuntloor, students achieved a 100 per cent pass rate in the ICSE exams. Arya Abhishek Bhagat, who secured 98.4 per cent emerged as the school topper, while Avuti Annika (98 per cent) and Artham Harshith Sai (97.8 per cent) were second and third toppers respectively.

Overall, 2,58,721 students from 2,957 schools across India and abroad appeared for the ICSE exams and 99.18 per cent passed. The pass percentage in the ISC stood at 99.13 out of 1,03,316 students who took the exams from 1,553 schools.

Girls have achieved a pass percentage of 99.46, while boys recorded a qualified percentage of 98.93 in the ICSE. Girls have also done better than boys in ISC exams, with a pass percentage of 99.48 and boys secured 98.81 per cent of passes.

The recheck window will be open from May 1 to 4, followed by re-evaluation and improvement examinations scheduled in June and July.
