Nirmal: Forest Minister Indrakaran Reddy said that the government was creating residential schools across the State to ensure free and quality education from Class I to X for girls from financially weak background.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for a Rs 3.5 crore Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya at Ananthapet village in Nirmal Rural mandal on Tuesday, Indrakaran Reddy said the government had laid a special focus on improving education and infrastructure of State-run schools. He cited creation of residential schools and distribution of sanitary kits to girls.
He said that students of weaker sections and economically weak communities deserve quality education. The uplift of these students was the prime objective of the government, he added.
The Minister distributed cheques to beneficiaries of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes in Nirmal town. He opined that the financial aid was bringing relief to the parents of brides belonging to financially poor communities. He added that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s aim was to see smiles on the faces of the parents.
Later, Indrakaran Reddy, participating in a preparatory meeting of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for forthcoming membership drive, told the cadre to lay special focus on the programme and to increase activists for the outfit. He advised them to take up the drive online using modern technology. He added that the drive must be held as a festival of the party.
