Telangana govt forms panel to revise fee norms for private professional colleges
The Telangana government has formed a 10-member expert committee, led by TGCHE Chairman Prof. V. Balakista Reddy, to review and recommend updated parameters for fee fixation in private unaided professional colleges.

Hyderabad: The State government on Friday constituted a 10-member committee headed by the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) Chairman Prof. V Balakista Reddy to suggest revised parameters for fee fixation in the private unaided professional colleges in the State.
The committee has been asked to explore and identify relevant indicators and benchmarks to be considered for determining fee structures, keeping in view the practices adopted by other States. It has also been asked to look into relevant Supreme Court and High Courts judgments and other pertinent factors impacting the cost of education.
While TGCHE Secretary Prof. Sriram Venkatesh is the Member-Secretary of the committee, Technical Education Commissioner A Sridevasena, Social Welfare Development department Commissioner N Kshitija, State Audit department Director M Venkateshwar Rao, Director of Town and Country Planning S Devendar Reddy are the members.
JNTU-Hyderabad Registrar Prof. K Venkateswara Rao, Osmania University Dean and Faculty of Engineering Prof. A Krishnaiah, along with two subject experts as desired by the chairperson, are also committee members.
The government move comes following TAFRC’s recommendation to appoint a committee to examine the parameters and suggest revised parameters for fee fixation, duly studying the process being followed in other States and keeping in view the relevant Supreme Court and High Court orders.
