Hyderabad: The admissions to diploma courses for the academic year 2021-22 in the government polytechnic colleges have witnessed huge demand in seats with 43 out of 54 colleges recording 100 per cent seat allotment in the final phase of Telangana State Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (TS POLYCET) 2021 admission counselling.

The Technical Education department on Saturday released the seat allotments for candidates who participated in the final phase of web-based admission counselling. Only nine private unaided colleges out of 65 had 100 per cent seats allotted.

According to admission details released by the department, a total of 83.98 per cent out of 29,054 available seats in 120 polytechnic colleges were allotted in the final phase of polytechnic admissions.

Institution wise, of the total 11,874 seats in 54 government polytechnics, only 250 seats were vacant after allotments. In the case of one aided polytechnic college, three out of 230 seats remained unallocated. Likewise, 4,400 seats were vacant out of 16,950 seats available in 65 private polytechnic colleges.

Students who received seat allotment should self-report online and pay tuition fee by August 31. The provisional seat allotment order will be automatically cancelled, if a candidate fails to self-report online or pay tuition fee by August 31, said Navin Mittal, admissions convenor, TS POLYCET 2021.

Candidates have been informed to pay tuition fees from their own account or parent’s account. In the case of refund, if any, it will be remitted to the same account.

All provisionally seat allotted candidates should report at their allotted college on or before September 1. The seats will also be automatically cancelled, if the candidates do not report to the colleges concerned before the deadline. Further, candidates reporting at their allotted college must handover a set of photo copies of the certificates and register his/her Aadhaar details. The provisional seat allotment can be cancelled by logging onto the website https://tspolycet.nic.in.

The academic session will commence from September 1 with orientation classes from September 1 to 4, while the classwork will begin from September 6.
