Hyderabad: Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice GM Mohiuddin of the Telangana High Court on Monday adjourned the hearing in a batch of writ petitions challenging Justice PC Ghose Commission report relating to alleged irregularities and corruption in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project.

The petitions were filed by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, former Minister T Harish Rao, former Chief Secretary SK Joshi, and senior IAS officer Smita Sabharwal, questioning the findings and recommendations of the Commission.

Senior counsels Aryama Sundaram and Dama Seshadri Naidu, appearing for KCR and Harish Rao, advanced arguments assailing the conclusions of the Commission and the consequential action proposed by the State.

It was brought to the notice of the Bench that the State government has already filed its counter-affidavit and that the petitioners have also filed their replies. Seeking time to respond, the Advocate General requested permission to place written submissions on record. Accepting the request, the Bench directed the State to file its written submissions on or before February 20 and posted the matter for further hearing on February 25.

The Court also clarified that no action shall be taken on the basis of the PC Ghose Commission report until the next date of hearing.
