Hyderabad: A two-judge panel of the Telangana High Court comprising Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice A Rajasekar Reddy on Wednesday quashed a notice issued by the Telangana State Human Rights Commission (TSHRC) seeking to entertain a complaint relating to a service matter. The panel was dealing with a writ plea filed by M/s IREP Dhan Pvt. Ltd. The company earlier was directed by the Telangana State Human Rights Commission to appear in person on a complaint lodged by one D Papi Reddy relating to a service matter. The counsel for Petitioner contended that there is no issue of Human Rights violation in his complaint and the Human Rights Commissioner must not entertain such a complaint. The panel speaking through the Chief Justice rejected the plea that sometimes even service matters would involve human rights violations and pointed out that for service violations there were others to adjudicate and therefore the Telangana State Human Rights Commission had no jurisdiction to deal with such a petition.
ED files petition
The Enforcement Directorate filed a petition before the Panel seeking direction to the local police for furnishing of all digital conversations collected by the local police in connection with the ongoing investigation into the drug trafficking and offences under the Narcotics Act in Telangana. The said application is made in a writ plea filed by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revanth Reddy. The petitioner had sought co-ordination with the said specialised agencies to unravel the drug nexus. It is the case of the petitioner that the local investigating agency is not doing enough though various big names including that of an MLA had been making the rounds in connection with drug dealer Kelvin and involves several film stars from Tollywood. He complained that the menace was eating into the youngsters and required proper and prompt investigation.
Panel issues notice
The two judge panel on Wednesday issued a notice in a PIL filed by C Damodar Rajanarasimha, former Deputy Chief Minister challenging the provisions of the Telangana Rights in Land and Pattadar Passbooks Act. The counsel for the petitioner contended that the provisions of the Act grossly violate the fundamental and constitutional rights of the constitution. It was observed that the Circular issued by the Revenue Department violates the rights of a person under the effecting change in rights and requesting to resolve the issues pertaining to Dharani portal. The matter has been adjourned to December 8 for further hearing.
