Hyderabad: All regular students of intermediate second-year will be awarded marks based on the marks obtained in the intermediate first year.

This means that the same marks as scored in the intermediate first year 2020 will be awarded for the second year in each subject. This procedure is applicable for this year only.

“The marks obtained by regular students in the intermediate first-year 2020 (general, vocational and bridge course) should be taken as the basis for awarding marks in the second year for this year, for each student,” read a memo issued by the State government on Wednesday.

The government has already passed all intermediate students without holding the intermediate public examinations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

As practical exams were not conducted this year due to the pandemic, 100 per cent marks will be given to students in the practicals (general, vocational and bridge course) and OJT.

All second-year students who failed in the first-year subjects and paid the exam fee have already been granted minimum 35 per cent pass marks. Likewise, private/failed candidates will be awarded minimum pass marks i.e., 35 per cent in failed subjects.

As per the memo, students of the intermediate second year (regular and private) failed in Ethics & Human Values, and Environmental Education subjects will be given minimum 35 per cent marks

Similarly, all candidates under attendance exemption category appearing for additional subjects viz., general bridge course mathematics, vocational bridge course and general humanities courses will be granted 35 per cent marks in first-year backlog theory subjects and second year subjects identical to their first-year will be given pass marks in those theory subjects. However, 100 per cent marks will be awarded in practical subjects.

According to the memo, students who are not satisfied with the results will be given one opportunity to appear for regular written exams as and when the situation becomes conducive to hold the exams.

The government has asked the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education to take necessary action immediately.
