Telangana: Jagtial youth kills father over marriage dispute
In Metpally town, Jagtial, Yella Anvesh allegedly attacked his father, Ganganarsaiah, 78, with a stick over delays in arranging his marriage. The father succumbed to injuries at a Nizamabad hospital. Police have registered a case and begun investigation.

Jagtial: Upset over his parents not arranging his marriage, a youngster killed his father by attacking him with a stick in Metpally town.
According to police, Yella Anvesh of Boyawada frequently argued with his father, Ganganarsaiah, 78, over the delay in performing his marriage. As the marriage was not finalised, Anvesh is said to have developed a grudge against his father.
On Sunday, another argument broke out between them and as the quarrel intensified, Anvesh allegedly attacked his father with a stick, causing severe head injuries. Family members shifted Ganganarsaiah to a hospital in Nizamabad, where he died while undergoing treatment on Monday.
Police registered a case and began an investigation.
Woman dies by suicide six months after marriage in Kothagudem
Kothagudem: A 19-year-old woman who attempted suicide on Sunday at Yellandu in the district, six months after her marriage, died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Khammam on Monday.
The woman, Anjali of Lachchagudem village in Yellandu mandal, married software engineer Chitturi Saikumar of the same village on May 14. She had been staying with her in-laws in the village while her husband was working in Hyderabad.
She allegedly consumed pesticide due to family disputes. Her in-laws, who noticed her condition, rushed her to Yellandu government hospital, from where she was shifted to a private hospital in Khammam for better treatment.
Doctors said Anjali died in the early hours of Monday as her condition deteriorated. Her father, K Venkateshwarlu, lodged a complaint against her in-laws at the Yellandu police station.
Daily wage earner run over by truck in Mancherial
Mancherial: A 43-year-old migrant daily wage earner was killed after being run over by a concrete-laden truck on the outskirts of Mandamarri town on Monday.
Police said Kachu Prasad, from Patna, died on the spot after the truck ran over his head while he was asleep in a cotton field. He was working on the construction of a power transmission line and had migrated to Mandamarri in search of livelihood a few months ago.
Police suspect rash and negligent driving by the truck driver led to the accident. Family members of the victim lodged a complaint, following which a case was registered. Investigation is underway.
