Hyderabad: Finance Minister T Harish Rao promised to construct permanent buildings for women groups in all villages. “I constructed 20 mahila bhavans in Siddipet district. However, not a single bhavan is constructed in Huzurabad constituency”, he pointed out.
Though BJP leader Eatala Rajender worked as Minister for seven years, he failed to complete mahila bhavans, he informed and assured to construct bhavans. Minister announced to sanction four women bhavans.
The Finance Minister distributed Rs 1.25 crore interest free loans to Self-Help Group women in a programme held in Huzurabad on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that he was informed by the women that not a single double bedroom house was constructed in Huzurabad while houses in other areas were completed. Women were expressing their willingness to construct houses in their own lands if the government was ready to sanction the amount.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has sanctioned 4,000 houses to each Minister. Ministers KT Rama Rao, Srinivas Goud, and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy have completed houses in their respective constituencies. However, Rajender failed to complete a single house.
“I have been targeted by Rajender when I questioned the BJP leader’s failure in the construction of houses. Is it wrong to question BJP leaders’ failure even after working as Minister for seven years. Is it wrong to promise the public to take steps for construction of houses” he said.
The Telangana government was fulfilling all its promises. Pension amount has been enhanced to Rs 2,016 from Rs 200. Though the government enhanced Kalyanalaxmi amount to Rs 1 lakh from Rs 50,000 to help the marriage poor women, Rajender was terming it as a peanut. Poor parents know very well how the amount would help them for the marriage of their daughters.
BJP and Congress government had not given a single rupee for the marriage of poor women. Irrespective of caste and religion, Telangana government was providing Kalyanalaxmi for the marriage of poor women. In order to strengthen government hospitals, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao introduced the KCR kit scheme and was providing Rs 13,000 to lactation mothers.
Talking about Huzurabad, there was no proper road and drainage facility in Huzurabad town and the main road was also laid recently. Informing that Saidapur-Bornapalli road was also in bad shape, he announced the sanction of Rs 6 crore to lay the road. So far, Rs 35 crore worth works was sanctioned to Huzurabad constituency. A 13 kilometers distance road is also being laid in the town.
Asking the people to win TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav in Huzurabad by-polls, he informed them to take up developmental works by spending 5 crore each of MLA and MLC funds. Talking about anti-people policies of the Union government led by BJP, he questioned as to why people should exercise their votes for the BJP candidate. Women were refusing to vote BJP since the latter enhanced the price of cooking gas to Rs 1,000 by abolishing the subsidy.
Besides cooking gas, the prices of petrol, diesel and others have also been enhanced. However, TRS government was working for the welfare of the people. In order to help the poor during the Covid pandemic, the state government had provided Rs 1,500, rice and pulses to the poor for two months, he informed.
