Hyderabad: The State government has enhanced the maximum upper age limit for posts of uniformed services by five years for a period of one year. This is applicable to recruitment to posts in the Police, Fire, Prisons, Special Protection Force, Excise, Transport and Forest departments.

With this enhancement, the upper age limit for posts such as Police SI has been increased from 25 years to 30 years for general category candidates. Another five-year relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

However, unlike in the past, the government reduced the upper age relaxation duration from two years to one year.

The government raised the maximum age limit considering representations from the unemployed youth to enable them to become eligible to compete in the recruitment process.
