Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board receives 5.77 lakh applications for 7,437 police vacancies

The TSLPRB received 5,77,064 applications from around 4.29 lakh candidates for 7,437 police and allied department vacancies. SI preliminary tests are likely on November 29 and PC exams on December 20, with Aadhaar Face Authentication introduced to prevent impersonation.

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) has received more than 5.77 lakh applications from around 4.29 lakh candidates for 7,437 police and allied department vacancies. The preliminary written tests for Sub-inspector and Police Constable posts are tentatively scheduled for November and December, 2026.

The online application process, which began on August 19, concluded on September 16.

According to the TSLPRB, candidates submitted 5,77,064 applications, averaging 1.34 applications per candidate. Nearly 68.45 per cent of applicants filed for only one post, while 28.88 per cent submitted two applications.

The recruitment drive covers 7,437 vacancies, including 298 SI/ASI-level posts and 7,139 Police Constable-level posts across the Police, Special Protection Force, Fire, Disaster Response, Emergency and Civil Defence, and Prisons and Correctional Services departments.

The preliminary written test for nearly 1.61 lakh SI Civil and equivalent candidates is likely to be held on November 29, at the erstwhile 10 district headquarters. The test for nearly 3.89 lakh PC Civil and equivalent candidates is tentatively scheduled for December 20, at 15-18 locations, including the erstwhile 10 district headquarters.

The recruitment process also introduced Aadhaar Face Authentication to prevent impersonation.

The State government had also provided age relaxation of seven years for SI/ASI-level and PC Driver posts and 10 years for other PC-level posts, which the Board estimates benefited around 1.13 lakh candidates.

The board cautioned that the application figures may undergo minor changes following duplication, validation or invalidation of applications, delayed bank validations and court related matters.
