Telangana sets up Cabinet sub-committee to study condition of orphans
The State Cabinet also directed the Medical and Health Secretary to collect complete details pertaining to children who lost their parents due to Covid-19.

Hyderabad: A Cabinet sub-committee has been set up under chairmanship of Women Development and Child Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod to formulate a policy for welfare of orphans by examining the condition of orphans and orphanages in the State as well as related issues. The committee will also comprise of Ministers T Harish Rao, KT Rama Rao, P Sabitha Indra Reddy, V Srinivas Goud, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Koppula Eeshwar, Gangula Kamalakar, A Indrakaran Reddy, G Jagadish Reddy, and Errabelli Dayakar Rao as members.
The State Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan here on Sunday, has also directed the Medical and Health Secretary to collect complete details pertaining to children who lost their parents due to Covid-19 and became orphans. It had sought the district collectors to submit comprehensive report on the condition of orphans especially those who lost their parents to Covid.
Further, the Cabinet is discussing on the Covid-19 situation around the world and its impact on the State. The Ministers are also deliberating in the measures taken by various countries as well as States to contain spread of the disease. It has taken several crucial decisions on preventive measures and arrangements to treat patients including vaccination, setting up new dispensaries, creation of basic infrastructure like beds, dispensaries and other infrastructure as well as equipment. The Cabinet has also been discussing extensively on the measures to be taken in these districts, the availability of oxygen, medicines, beds, medicines and other needs.
Observing that there is high incidence of coronavirus cases in some districts, the State Cabinet instructed the Medical and Health officials to submit a detailed report on these cases from the Primary Healthcare Centres level up to the State level. The Cabinet directed the health officials to scale up the Covid diagnostic tests in all the districts and expedite the vaccination programme as well as ensure that there is no shortage of all kinds of medicines and oxygen.
