Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to construct permanent buildings for Tahsildar and Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) offices operating in rented and dilapidated premises across the State. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that 60 Tahsildar offices and five RDO offices, which are currently functioning in rented buildings, would get new permanent structures with modern facilities in the first phase.
In the second phase, 170 Tahsildar and RDO offices in poor condition would be reconstructed. The buildings would follow a uniform design across the State to ensure accessibility and standardised services. The designs would be finalised after consultations with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, he said.
After reviewing the status of revenue offices at the Secretariat on Wednesday, the Minister said the move was aimed at improving transparency and service delivery in revenue administration. He also reviewed the progress of integrated buildings for the Stamps and Registration Department.
He said 39 sub-registrar offices within the Outer Ring Road limits in Hyderabad and surrounding districts were being reorganised into 12 clusters, with integrated complexes under construction. Works at Gachibowli were in the final stage, while construction in Medchal-Malkajgiri and Patancheru had already begun.
