Telangana Tunnel Collapse: over 600 rescue personnel on task at SLBC tunnel collapse site
Nearly 600 personnel are working round the clock to rescue the eight workers trapped inside the SLBC tunnel which collapsed. However, there is no luck so far in locating any survivors

Hyderabad: The rescue operations at the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel collapse have entered a critical phase, with all efforts concentrated on reaching the final stretch of the tunnel. Nearly 600 personnel from nine agencies, alongside the Indian Army and Navy, are positioned at the SLBC tunnel.
The precarious condition of the tunnel following the roof collapse has prompted swift action, monitored by high-level officials.
A ministerial group headed by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka reviewed the progress of the rescue mission on the project site on Tuesday, Minister for Irrigation Uttam Kumar Reddy, Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and Minister of Excise Jupally Krishna Rao who are personally overseeing the rescue operations, took part in the review,
The meeting was attended by the Special Chief Secretary(Disaster Management) Arvind Kumar, SPDCL CMD Musharraf Ali, Special Officer Sridhar, District Collector Badawat Santosh, IG Chauhan, L&T tunnel expert Chris Cooper, Robbins Company representative Gren Maker, and a team of experts who had previously handled similar rescue operations in Uttarakhand.
Representatives from the Army, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response (SDR), Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), and the Northern Kashmir Tunnel Rescue Rat Miners Group, represented by Feroz Qureshi, were also present.
