Telangana Universities Contract Assistant Professors JAC announces indefinite strike from April 19

The contract teachers of 12 universities will hold a Maha Dharna on Wednesday, demanding the government regularize their services

Hyderabad: With a main demand to regularise their services, the Telangana Universities Contract Assistant Professors Joint Action Committee has announced an indefinite strike from April 19 and decided to hold a Maha Dharna at Dharna Chowk here on Wednesday. The contract teachers of 12 universities will take part in the protest.

Political leaders, including T Harish Rao (BRS), Eatala Rajender (BJP), R. Krishnaiah (BCWA), Kunam Neni Sambasiva Rao (CPI), John Wesley (CPM), MLCs Teenmar Mallanna and Jajula Srinivas Goud, Prof. Haragopal, Justice Sudarshan Reddy, and among others will participate.

Meanwhile, as per the JAC call, the contract teaching staff of 12 universities held a protest at their respective administrative buildings and served a notice to Vice Chancellors over their indefinite strike from 19 April.

JAC members Dr. Dharmateja, Dr. Parasuram, Dr. Upender, Dr. Kumar, Dr. Vijayender Reddy, Dr. O. Krishnaiah, Dr. Tirupati, Dr. Pandayya, Dr. Tallapalli Venkateswarlu, Dr. Reshma Reddy and others participated in the protest.
