BRS leader and former minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy accused the Congress government of betraying voters and pushing Telangana into economic turmoil within 23 months. He cited unfulfilled promises on jobs, welfare schemes, and farmer support while urging voters to reject Congress in bypolls.

BRS leader and former MLA Putta Madhu has accused IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu’s office of functioning as a “hub for illegal deals” under the guise of offering jobs to youth. He demanded a high-level probe into the alleged corruption.

At least five passengers were injured when a private travels bus overturned on the Outer Ring Road near Abdullapurmet on Saturday morning. The bus was heading from Hyderabad to Guntur with around 20 passengers. Police shifted the injured to hospital.

Hyderabad RTA and Traffic Police conducted surprise inspections targeting long-distance private buses, seizing several for safety violations including blocked emergency exits, expired fire extinguishers, lack of emergency hammers, and invalid permits. An electrician, Jameel, suffered bleeding injuries after being attacked with a knife by a local resident, Babu Jani, at Wadi-e-Mustafa, Pahadishareef, on Friday. The attack followed an argument over delays in restoring power supply. Police have arrested the accused.

A 22-year-old auto driver, Afroz, was brutally stabbed to death by unidentified persons at Mailardevpally on Friday night. Police suspect previous enmity led to the murder and have shifted the body for postmortem. An investigation is underway.
