Hyderabad: The Basketball Federation of India has appointed P. S. Santosh of Telangana as coach of the Indian men’s team which will participate in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers commencing from November this year.
The camp will be in progress at Vidyanagar Campus, Bengaluru. This is the first occassion when a coach of Telangana has been nominated for the Senior men’s team.
Santosh, who qualified as a coach from the National Institute of Sports, Patiala, is a FIBA Level-2 coach, certified member of the World Association of Basketball Coaches and has worked with coaches and scouts from the NBA, NCAA, and Europe Pro League.
A certified Instructor from the Ganon Baker Basketball Academy, USA, Santosh is trained for Player Development Coaching from GBA, Czech Republic, and scouting team member for Indian Women team at FIBA Asia Championship 2019 as well as the Telangana State team.
As a player, he has represented Army team and Andhra Pradesh at the Senior National Championships. Santosh was the coach of the Telangana team at the Junior nationals last and is presently the head coach at Keystone Basketball Academy.
