Warangal: Tension prevailed at Medaram jathara for a few hours after the convoy of SC and ST Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman was allegedly attacked by devotees when he tried to have darshan of Saralamma at the Gadellu.
About four vehicles were partially damaged in the incident, which occurred around 2.30 am on Friday. To make matters worse, there was disruption in power supply at the time, coinciding with the peak rush of devotees.
According to reports, the Minister’s convoy attempted to make its way to the Gadellu amidst a sea of devotees. Irked over the chaos and what they described as poor arrangements, devotees allegedly attacked the Minister’s convoy.
Officials claimed that none were injured in the incident. However, about four vehicles in the convoy were partially damaged. Rear windscreens of a couple of cars were damaged, and the side door of one car was also damaged, reports added.
